Ato' i am sorry about this accident and thank God you are fine and alive. You see how many fans you have who love you and pray for you and i think that God loves you too. That's why i agree with you and we have to be happy every time when we get up in the morning and too see the simple things that can make people smile because life is too short and we have to thank God for every moment spent with friends, relatives or those who don't know but they are happy too see you.I really can't say anything else, because in moments like this is enough to thank you are ok.I want to write you something that i read somewhere:" As another day is dawning untouched and freshly new I pray God sends His blessings on everything you do.And may the brand new morning turn into a wonderful day when all the things you wish for will surely come your way.that' s what I wanted to say. Be happy whatever you do.God bless you!

Just wanted to drop in to say God bless you and tell you how true it is that we must tell those we love that we love them today and not wait until tomorrow as tomorrow may never come. I was so sad and upset to read about Ato's car wreck. My husband is Trinidadian, I am American. My husband lives in Trinidad at this time, 5 more years to go on 10-year stay there in Trinidad. I haven't seen him since we married there 3-1/2 years ago. I want to visit him but cannot afford the ticket, nor can he as he is on disability. Anyway, we are in the process of trying to get him back to the States to be with me, his wife, where he should be. So many of his family members were killed in car accidents there in Trinidad. It is so true that you should let those you love know that you love them, tell them today. Don't wait. Thank you, Ato, for the chance to submit this message. You are an amazing athlete, as well as amazing person. I've read a lot about you. You're in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Be careful on those TT roads! On my visit there, my head was between my knees on each car ride I took! And I thought I was a fast driver here in the States, NOT!!!! LOL. Thanks again. Take care.

ATO my main man i am so sorry to hear that you got into that accident but glad that you are ok, look man i suppport your decision to get some rest and regroup, i want you to come back stronger than ever, kick ass like you did in the past a lot of people are supporting you, i did not give you my opinion on the 2000 olympics i know i am kind of late but the 100 i felt that maurice may have been the better man that day i was rooting for you but a silver is better than nothing at all, but the 200, what happened? that race i felt bro was yours you should've won that one, kenteris was lucky i mean the time that he won in was a lot slowere than what you and the other real sprinters were accostomed,i saw the race and you were looking like you were strugling my wife was crying because you looked liked you had a hard time but again a bronze was better than nothing hey keep up the good work may God bless you and your family and keep giving all the youths someone to look up to.

Hey, Ato
I am very sorry of the incedent. Hear me out a little. There is nothing that my God can not do. All you have to do is keep on trusting in him and he will direct your path. You will be on track very soon. I need you to do something for me please. I need to know when is trinidad olympic trials so I can come down and try out. I am going to the Univ OF Findlay. Most of my time, I do 400m and 200m. I did not run this outdoor season for 4 months. I only run 1, 400m without training, just jugging 3 to 4 milages and drils on a regular day to day. Right about now I am in the US, In brooklyn NY and next week I am going to run the 400m, and the 4x400m for NY region. This would be held at the Empire State Games in Sayraucse NY. So, I would like you to send me a note telling me when is this trinidad olympics trials, so I can take part in it. My, email> trackfield75@hotmail.com. Please write back soon. And at NY trials I ran 47.4 in the 400m. Without a college training, that was the jogging of 3 to 4 miles and the drills I did. May my God bless U.

I do believe it is the first time in T&T history that there is so much talent in sprinting. Good Luck and God Bless.

Hi Ato first let say thank u for representing us internationally (T & T). I believed u are our greatest sports model. I always wanted to scold Marc Burns when he stated that Murice Greene was his role model. I mean it wasnt Maurice that organise for J ohn Smith to share knowledge with our local coaches and wasnt Maurice that requested John to get the relay team mentally ready for the relays and most importantly it was u that offered accomodation for when they r competing abroad ( in the future). In essence they have not recognise ur quality on and off field but i did so i urge keep on being u. Now to the reason I'm writing u since 1999 u havent ran any spectacular times or ur usuall 9.8's. One reason u gave for this was that ur partners are feeding of u and now is the lack of preparation construtively I think u are searching for solutions. I also believed ur afraid of leaving Smith's camp because of the success u gain there but this formula is no longer beneficial to u. In 97,98,99 were ur best seasons . U ran times like 19.77 and 9.87 in the 200 and 100 resp. In 1999 u beat Maurice in Lusaane and i strongly believed u would had double in Seville. The point is John has failed to bring u back to ur best since 99 injury.
My suggestion are to train with Darrel coach for next world games 03 and if no favourable results u can resume with Smith. Because three years with Smith u still aint the Ato i know u could be. So nothing to loose with my suggestion and everything to gain. Darrel has moved from 10.22 in 2001 to 10.09 in 2002 thats progress. My other suggestion is to do exactly what u did in 96,97 and 99. Anyway all the best for next year and my five year old son ia waiting to see u beat Murice. Thats the truth we watch tapes of u together. Especially the one i recorded u beating Maurice in Lusaane.

Is Ato Boldon going to call it a day?
Should Ato now concentrate on the 400 metre or the 200 metres sprints?
