How are you doing? I really like your web page, keep up the good work. I read an article about you the other day on your retirement and I am very sorry to hear that. My family and I really enjoyed supporting you through the years. I am really glad to hear that you are going to stay involved with the sport. I am an athlete as well, currently I am representing Canada in the 400m and 800m but I am planning on representing Trinidad and Tobago. Both my parents are from there so I am working on getting dual citizenship. I am hoping that Trinidad will accept me with open arms. Is there anyone that I should talk to about this? My parents are always talking about how many great athletes T&T have but you don't really see them on the international scene. I hope that there is a better showing in Helsinki and I hope to be there along with them.

I think you have been tremendous and I was sad to see you've retired but thank you for all the memories.
I always had so much respect for you as an athlete and you'll be missed.

Hi, I´m a younger sprinter. I met Ato in Panamerican Games 2003, I talk with him. He´s an incredible person. Sorry if you don´t understand my english but my official languaje is spanish and I´m learning english. Well, I have the ecaudorian record of 100 meters with 10.39 when i was 19 years. I think Ato is one of the best sprinters in the Track and Field and Maurice Greene too. I want to met him.

I'm curious about a comment that you have made " Track athletes are way underpaid" ... what is your guess as to how much US dollars, the top sprinters in the world make on average per year?

Oscar Pistorius ( a guy in my school ) returned from Athens a couple of weeks ago after competing in the para-olympics , he achieved a gold , a bronze and anew WORLD RECORD in the 100m and 200m . You and Maurice are a inspiration to him , myself and to thousands . I wish you all the best for the future .

NO, Alex Rodriguez and Daunte Culpepper are 'paid'. Track athletes are way underpaid - always have been. Most Olympic athletes are, which is why they lose their talent to the big sports more and more. |
