Hi Ato...
I'm a french guy from Paris and I'm 26. My name is Julien, I work as a flight attendant and i'm fond of track. I saw you with your HSI friends when you came to Paris to run meetings and World's Championship. I'm a modest 100 meters runner (pb : 11"29) but my sport goal is to run one day under 11"00 in my life. There is a gap (genetic, training...) between what an athlete like you can do and what i can achieve with the cards that life gave me. I'm a very enthousiastic and happy guy though and if the idea to share some precious speed advice sounds good to you...don't hesitate. I'd be glad to chat with you about our track passion or planes, Jazz, french and american cultures or even life in general. ...
Truly yours.

Hi Ato:
First let me commend you on the fantastic job done on this site. I'm at work and I can't even stop browsing (which u and I know is a no, no while on the job)..Oh well!
I've always been a fan of you, since arriving in the US to run track in college back in 1996. I followed your performances and supported you as, from one islander to another. I can't believe you gave up the spikes though..You did your thing already though, so I know you'll have no regrets.
Another thing I want to big u up on is, that piece you wrote on Asafa's record run this year. Boy, I felt every word, it's like reading every bit of my thought written out on paper. I'm please to see how much positiveness, you said about him, and as a Jamaican and also a big fan of Asafa, I want to say THANK YOU!...
Keep up the good work, and blessed and much luck in your next endeavor.
Faithful and Loyal Fan
Tameca -Miramar, FL by way of Jamaica, W.I.

Even though I am half Jamaican, it doesn't influence my ASAFA judgment. I think he is that good, and I have been saying for a long time that the Jamaican athletes have not, in this era, had an equal to some of their great females...now they do.
Thanks. |

Looks like you were right about Asafa. I like what I'm seeing from Marc Burns and Darrel Brown this year though. Hopefully they both make the 100m final in Helsinki and Trini makes the 4x100m final.
I just hope somebody...ANYBODY takes the world record from Montgomery this year. Later boss!

Well, well friends what can we say about Asafa Powell, the New Breed of Sprinter. WHAT DO I MEAN? , he's taller than most sprinters..which means his stride length is longer than most sprinters..but he has the same explosion and leg speed..SO!..well you do the math.
He's dangerous..NEW WORLD RECORD this year..he's going to create a whole new level for us.
Ato believes it....I believe it....and when you open the season with 9.84s so should you.
BUT Ato..you still the man..godbless.

Hey Ato!! PHHS class of 91!! Hey..This was last minute so I did not have time to properly prepare, but I had the luxury of visiting Trinidad last week for a business trip. I stayed at the Hilton, visited Maracas Beach, ate the Bake-n-Shark, and had 'doubles' every morning!! Also visited 51 on one of the evenings. I read in the local paper that you had spoken to some students so I must have been there at the same time as you. I definitely look forward to visiting the islands again and will definitely visit Tobago the next time around.
Glad to hear of all your success.
Take care,

Hi ato! There was the Conseil general IAAF meeting in martinique on April 30th, the journalists could not help mentioning your name, saying that you are such a popular (retired, now)athlete in this country. They added that you will always be welcome here.
I heard too that you liked the island so much that you wanted to buy a house in martinique is it true?
I want to congratulate you for your achievements.
Could you please thank maurice for his participation in this meeting. Him and other, you included help this meeting getting bigger and bigger from a year to another I heard that 2 contracts with two big sponsors are to be signed.
Thanks this is much appreciated.

Only 2 meets do I feel like I helped to make big. The first is Athens, Martinique was the other becasue no-one was interested in coming to the Caribbean in 2000. There is more to come from me. I'll tell MO, too. |

I like the new story thay you have written in your -True Story- section. I especially like the bit were you say 'except for this Blue and Gold thing that passes me' Wooosh! OH look it's MJ. Well it goes something like that.
Is that why you have now, a suped up super car so that when you are beside a car you never have that feeling of ( I should have forked out for that better Turbo Charger! ) and they pull away.
Excellent story. Thankyou Ato.
